New Assassin's Creed games with settings in Baghdad, Japan, and more are announced by Ubisoft
Official Announcement of the (Assassin's Creed)
The upcoming major Assassin's Creed game has now been publicly released by Ubisoft after numerous leaks. As anticipated, it will change the setting of the time-traveling franchise to Baghdad in the ninth century, where players will assume the role of aspiring assassin Basim. Mirage takes place two decades before Assassin's Creed Valhalla, thus fans may recognize that name from that game.
The RPG elements from more recent games won't be there because, as Ubisoft points out, the game will return to the series action-adventure roots. It's anticipated that Mirage will take off in 2023. Also noteworthy is the fact that Shohreh Aghdashloo was cast in the character of Basim's assassination mentor, which is a brilliant casting choice.
But Ubisoft also made a lot of significant announcements about the series' future, so it's not the end of the news for the series.
Start with mobile devices. Ubisoft has released "Jade," the first open-world Assassin's Creed game for mobile devices." It is set in ancient China and will allow players to create their own characters. The Great Wall may also be traversed by parkour, which seems like fun. "Codename Jade" is slated to go on sale soon. Although there are currently no specifics available, Ubisoft has also stated that it is working on an undisclosed mobile game for Netflix's gaming service. (Netflix and Ubisoft are currently developing a live-action Assassin's Creed series.)
three new Assassin's Creed games in the main series
Three new Assassin's Creed mainline games were announced, not one, not two, but three. There are Mirage, Red, and Hexe, which are all being handled by various inside Ubisoft studios. If you want more information, click on the links to our posts that are specifically dedicated to each one.
Amazingly, during the show, a new Assassin's Creed game was also shown.
Ubisoft provided some information regarding the games that will follow Mirage in regards to the mainline series' future. The Quebec City office of Ubisoft is currently working on a game with the codename "Red," which will take place in feudal-era Japan, while the Montreal team is developing a game with the codename "Hexi," which is still in the early stages of production but seems to be about witches in some way. While Odyssey-style RPG mechanics are mainly being abandoned by Mirage, it looks like Red and Hexe will keep them.
Some game details
The publisher also gave some additional information about its Assassin's Creed "Infinity" project, which seems to be an online center that would link the core games with separate multiplayer projects. Imagine it as the Animus from a video game, only that you would use it to start games.
Project Jade brings Assassin's Creed to mobile devices
Assassin's Creed Codename JADE is a AAA RPG action-adventure game for mobile devices set in ancient China that lets you take the Assassin's Creed franchise with you wherever you go.
Yes, three brand-new Assassin's Creed games are now under development. Codename Jade will be the first episode to ever be set in ancient China, in contrast to the other three.
Jade is the first open-world game created specifically for mobile platforms. It will feature all the hay-bale diving, clever stealth kills, and user-friendly touch screen controls that fans have come to expect from the mainline installments.
Players can build their own characters in Jade, and you can even parkour on the Great Wall of China. Sadly, there is currently no word about this game's release date.
