Assassin's Creed Mirage is quite popular among players
Assassin's Creed in the Middle East
The Assassin's Creed series' next installment was officially made public by Ubisoft yesterday. Assassin's Creed Mirage was formally introduced along with a picture that looks to confirm the game's rumored Middle Eastern setting. The graphic shows an assassin—possibly Basim from Assassin's Creed Valhalla—jumping over a crowd and preparing to attack a defenseless person below with a concealed sword and sharp hood.
According to sources, Assassin's Creed Mirage will reportedly take place in Baghdad in the ninth century. Fans are responding favorably to the setting and the strong original Assassin's Creed feelings it's giving off. On the Assassin's Creed subreddit, one member said, "Look at those gorgeous arches and buildings!" (opens in new tab). Another was added: "That is very similar to AC1, and no other game in the series has looked at that period or area. Actually, if they're going back to their roots, it's a great move."
Ubisoft: The upcoming Assassin's Creed game is called Assassin's Creed Mirage We're excited to share more with you on September 10 at Ubisoft. Forward: 12PM PT | 9PM CEST
There are rumors that Mirage will forgo the RPG-style system of recent games and return to the basics with smaller settings and an emphasis on stealth. The scenario appears to draw heavily from the first Assassin's Creed. While some fans like the series' more global and combat-focused approach, many are anticipating the probable return of the original Assassin's Creed formula.
One AC lover commented, "Smaller in size definitely gets my passions going." "I enjoy these games, but especially Valhalla, they have gotten so bloated that it becomes a burden at the finish." Another supporter supported this viewpoint, responding, "I'm all with this as long as it goes back to its roots. Even though the more RPG-oriented AC games were enjoyable for a long time, I was fatigued by Valhalla and wanted to return to the more straightforward designs."
Many people are also enthusiastic about the possibility that future installments of Assassin's Creed may focus on real assassins. Reddit user arex333 asks, "OMG is that an Assassin I see?" While one of the most well-liked responses to the news on Twitter is "Praying it truly has something to do with Assassins," Assassin's Creed Mirage will be much more clear to us following the Ubisoft Forward broadcast, which will take place on September 10 of this week.
Leaks this week for the game(Assassin's Creed)
This week, I covered a few leaks related to Mirage. A YouTube video that claimed to know information about the game sparked a lot of conversation on Tuesday. According to Bloomberg's Jason Schreier, who waded into the controversy, individuals familiar with Mirage had discounted some of the information that had been leaked but had verified others, including the game's title, setting, and return to the fundamentals of the original Ass Creed. Jeff Grubb of Giant Bomb joined the conversation and said that he had heard the Mirage name was legitimate.
Yesterday, Mirage leaked artwork showing what looked to be prospective DLC for the game that hadn't yet been published. These belonged to a game called The Forty Thieves Quest, which may have been inspired by the Arabic folktale of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves. People who shared the photographs were quickly served with DMCA takedown notices, giving them some legitimacy.
The game originally gained attention in February when rumors of a stealth-focused Assassin's Creed: Valhalla spin-off started to surface. Back then, it was referred to as Rift. Basim Ibn Ishaq, one of Valhalla's Hidden Ones, is said to appear in the game, which will be less expansive than the previous three big open-world installments. The return of the assassins in Assassin's Creed is welcome, but this year marks the game's 15th anniversary. Surely they had to?
