On the day of launch, "Tower of Fantasy" was plagued by lengthy wait times and server problems.
The new MMORPG Tower of Fantasy, which aspires to transfer the gacha popularity of Genshin Impact into a new universe and genre, officially launched today. Genshin's counterpart, Tower of Fantasy, was developed by Perfect World, a fellow Chinese studio, and is much more geared toward multiplayer. However, it will need a lot more than a setting and people that appear similar to succeed in the same way as Genshin.
Since servers went live late last night, Tower of Fantasy has been plagued by several very standard MMO launch troubles. Players are seeing 24-hour wait durations in queues or clearing them just to have their game crash and reset thereafter. Others are accessing servers but are later kicked out. Some are being advised to switch servers to shorten wait times, however, if you have already established a character or made progress on a particular server, it is not very helpful.
As soon as Tower of Fantasy was live, gamers flocked to the anime game in droves, which led to several launch-related difficulties including long login lines and disconnects. To compensate players for their patience, the Tower of Fantasy RPG game's creator Hotta Studio says that it is on top of things and that most main difficulties have already been repaired. As a result, you should be able to download Tower of Fantasy for PC and play without any hassles once more.
Tower of Fantasy, which attracts notice for its Genshin Impact-like presentation, has a sizable fan base. With its elaborate custom character generator, which enables players to create the anime heroes of their dreams, even if those characters only wind up being Genshin Impact characters, the game aims to differentiate itself from its rivals.

Even though these are standard MMO launch issues, Tower of Fantasy's creators isn't exactly allaying my worries about the game's technical standing. Along with the game's release, they made the following statement addressing the "problems" and "shortcomings" of the game:
"We would want to acknowledge that Tower of Fantasy still has a lot of issues. Although we will make every effort to fix them, certain flaws and problems could persist after the official launch. We created the appropriate debugging time limitations and standards, encouraged our workers in the related departments to implement them, and foresaw the potential for several issues.
Again, while this is relatively common, my personal experience with Tower of Fantasy has been unsettling. The game launched with issues (surprise!). When I encountered a progression barrier on the main questline on an early preview build before launch, I was informed that the patch will be:
- I would have to download a brand-new build of the game (more than 20 GB).
- My entire progress would be erased by this.
- I would need to complete an online form to maintain my progress.
- A developer would then need to manually get into my account to boost my character back to its pre-wipe state.
That is, well, kind of odd. Suffice it to say that I chose to wait till the official debut rather than bother doing that (my progress would have been wiped at the end of the test anyway). But now that the game has officially launched, I might simply wait a little longer until both of these server problems are resolved and perhaps until the game's first few significant patches, since it looks to be coming in rather...hot, to put it mildly.

While I like several aspects of Tower of Fantasy, such as the fighting and character creation, I believe it isn't quite as polished as it needs to be for a widespread release. In the beginning, we'll see what can be corrected and what the general consensus is.
